Arsenal handed boost ahead of Bayern Munich clash as ‘injured’ star trains with the first-team

Arsenal have been handed an injury boost ahead of the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final fixture against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard has returned to training and could feature at the Allianz Arena.

The Gunners captain was withdrawn in the closing stages of their 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Manager Mikel Arteta told reporters after the Premier League game that the substitution was due to an injury.

However, Odegaard was spotted alongside his teammates in training at Sobha Realty Training Centre today.

Having drawn 2-2 with Bayern at home, Arsenal will need to be on top of their game if they want to progress to the semi-final of the competition, and having their captain available is a huge boost.

Odegaard has been their most creative player for a while, and being without his input for such an important game would be a massive blow.
