Man Utd players believe Erik Ten Hag will be sacked after what they’ve seen behind the scenes

Manchester United players have spotted manager Erik ten Hag’s sudden change of mood, suggesting the Dutchman knows he will be sacked before the start of next season, according to the Sun.

The Red Devils stars fear the former Ajax boss has now resigned himself to the sack at the end of the season, and they have noticed a change in his demeanour in recent weeks.

Man United players have clearly seen the body language of their manager behind the scenes despite his several attempts in public to appear confident of his chances of keeping his job.

Ten Hag claimed last Friday that he has no doubts he will be in charge of the Old Trafford club next season, but it appears he knows what is coming as Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has refused to deliver a public vote of confidence for him.

His mood behind the scenes has given him away from the look of things, and it will be interesting to see whether he will still be in charge when the 2024-25 campaign starts.

Mathematically, the Red Devils can still secure a place in the group stages of the Champions League next season, with 11 points separating them from the top four after 31 games.

However, they have not been consistent enough this term and have largely not played like a team capable of qualifying for the elite European competition.

Man United can still end the campaign with a trophy, having booked a place in the FA Cup semi-finals, where they will face Coventry City.

However, that may not be enough to keep Ten Hag in the role. He will hope the performances during the last seven league games will convince Ratcliffe he is the best man for the job.
