Liverpool add Ange Postecoglou to their list of targets after Alonso decision

Liverpool have been looking for a new manager to replace Jurgen Klopp who is set to step down from his role at the end of the season.

The Merseyside outfit wanted Xabi Alonso to be Klopp’s successor at Anfield after being highly impressed by his work at Bayer Leverkusen.

But the 42-year-old has decided to stay at Leverkusen for at least another season in a big Liverpool news.

However, Diario de Noticias claim they have also added Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou to their list of targets.

Postecoglou has done an impressive job at Spurs after joining the club last summer.

With Harry Kane leaving to join Bayern Munich, the 58-year-old was expected to face a massive challenge.

But he has completely changed the mood around the club, with his attacking brand of football quickly becoming very popular among supporters.

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League but only three points off Aston Villa and six ahead of Manchester United.

Liverpool are also considering Unai Emery, Julian Nagelsmann and Simone Inzaghi as potential replacements for Klopp.
