West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Since arriving in London from Slavia Prague on an initial loan deal in 2020, Soucek has established himself as a first-team regular, racking up 176 appearances across all competitions.
The 28-year-old led West Ham in league goals scored during his first full season and has remained an offensive threat for David Moyes’ side as recently shown in the 2-0 win over Arsenal last time out where Soucek grabbed the opener.
Despite the departure of last season’s midfield partner Declan Rice, Soucek has continued to impress for West Ham and it is no surprise to see him rewarded with a new contract.
“I am very happy to have signed this new contract and very proud that I can continue my career here,” Soucek said via West Ham’s official website.
“It has been four years since I joined West Ham United and I have enjoyed every moment – coming to England was a new experience for me and we have been successful in the time that I have been here.
“We have won a trophy, had good results in the Premier League, and I am happy with myself, that I have played nearly every minute, and I feel that the fans appreciate me here.
“This was a big part of the reason that I wanted to extend my contract with West Ham, because I feel that this is my home now, and I want to achieve even more in the future with this great club.”
Looking to continue their surge up the Premier League table, Soucek and West Ham bid for a fifth win in six games across all competitions when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the London Stadium on Tuesday.
