Everton eye move for Jacob Greaves to replace Man United & Tottenham target Branthwaite

Everton are monitoring the progress of Hull City defender Jacob Greaves, according to the Mirror.

The 23-year-old centre-back has been a pivotal figure for Liam Rosenior’s side this season, featuring in 34 matches and captaining the Tigers on several occasions.

He has helped Hull keep nine clean sheets in the Championship, winning 74% of his aerial and 64% of his ground duels.

His progressive passing and ball-carrying ability are also standout features.

Greaves’ consistent performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with the Toffees joining West Ham United and Crystal Palace in the race for the young defender.

West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd is poised to leave the club this summer after a difficult time in England, and they will need to replace him.

Palace defender Marc Guehi will be moving, and they need a new centre-back to bolster their backline.

Greaves would naturally replace Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who has attracted the attention of Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Hull tied Greaves down on a new contract that runs until 2026, and they could demand a massive fee from the Toffees.

He has interest from other Premier League clubs, and they might try to ensure a bidding war.

Hull are currently sixth in the Championship. Their finish at the end of the season will definitely play a pivotal role in determining his fate.

Everton’s interest in Greaves highlights the growing reputation of the talented young defender.

His leadership qualities and consistent performances have garnered praise from Rosenior, who acknowledged the development strides the player has made this season.

Whether Everton’s interest translates into a concrete offer remains to be seen, but Greaves’ name is certainly one to watch in the upcoming transfer window.
