Arsenal are looking to sign a striker to ease the burden on Gabriel Jesus, who has continuously battled knee problems since joining the club in 2022.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have shortlisted four strikers to sign this summer – Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee and Viktor Gyokeres.
Toney is a target after leading the Bees into the Premier League and helping them stay in the top flight.
While his link-up play is excellent, his passing numbers may worry Mikel Arteta, who insists on keeping possession.
Toney bagged 20 goals in league 33 appearances last season and has four in seven this term.
The time has come for the 27-year-old to leave Brentford, and he could find the perfect landing spot at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have also reportedly looked at Napoli hitman Osimhen. He led Napoli to their first Serie A title in over 30 years with 26 league goals before helping Nigeria reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Lille centre-forward is a workhorse. He fights for every chance and can hit a shot from about any angle – traits that will entice Arsenal scouts.
Zirkzee’s exploits at Bologna have made him a contender for the centre-forward role at Arsenal. The Bayern Munich academy graduate has found a home in Italy and has been delivering the goods.
After struggling in Italy for two years, the 22-year-old has caught fire this season, netting nine in 25 league appearances.
He could lead the Rossoblu to a place in European competitions, further highlighting why Arsenal are considering him.
Last on Arsenal’s target list is Viktor Gyokeres. He is the top scorer in Europe’s top seven leagues, with 31 goals and ten assists.
The Swedish centre-forward has been in cracking form since he joined Sporting CP last summer, and his stay in Portugal may not be long.
Gyokeres has a €100 million release clause that clubs will be looking to activate, and Arsenal could place themselves ahead of the queue for his signature.
Arsenal want to bolster their attack with a prolific striker and mount a serious challenge for silverware. However, the choice won’t be easy.
Toney offers experience and Premier League familiarity, while Osimhen adds a winning mentality and a clinical edge.
Zirkzee represents exciting potential on the rise, and Gyokeres brings goalscoring prowess at a premium price.
Arteta’s decision will ultimately be crucial in shaping Arsenal’s attacking future and their quest for trophies.
