Maguire & Sterling nominated for November Premier League POTM award

Jeremy Doku (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Thomas Kaminski (Luton Town), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea), and Marcus Tavernier (Bournemouth) have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award after producing outstanding performances in November 2023.

Doku began the month in ridiculous form, recording four assists and a goal in City’s demolition of Bournemouth. However, he was more subdued in their 4-4 clash with Chelsea.

The Belgian attacker roared back to form in City’s match against Liverpool, terrorising the Reds’ fragile right flank. He is adapting to the Premier League seamlessly and will be an even bigger problem for defenders.

Gordon began the month with a crucial winner against Arsenal to end the Gunners’ unbeaten run this season. The goal was controversial and drew debates for weeks, but it was much ado about nothing.

He also provided a goal and an assist as they downed Chelsea at St. James’ Park. The Magpies thrashed the Blues 4-1, and Gordon was the protagonist, showing the Blues what they missed out on.

Luton finally climbed out of the relegation zone in November and they have goalkeeper Kaminski to thank for their ascent.

He made some incredible saves to help his side take a point against Liverpool early in the month.

Kaminski was also excellent against Manchester United, making them toil for their 1-0 win before helping Luton win their first home match as they beat Crystal Palace.

Man United defender Maguire has returned to his best form after months of fighting criticism, emerging as a cornerstone for the Red Devils as they went through the month unbeaten.

United did not concede a single goal throughout the month as they kept clean sheets against Fulham, Luton and Everton.

Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling is another player who has turned his performances around, leading this young Chelsea side as they attempt to look like something other than mid-table fodder.

The England international provided an assist in the 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur before netting against former side Manchester City and concluding the month with a super free-kick in the Newcastle loss.

Tavernier scored two goals in November against Sheffield United and played a crucial role as the Cherries climbed away from the relegation zone.
