Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Girona’s Brazilian sensation Savinho ahead of a potential move next summer, reports Diario Sport.
Currently on loan from Ligue 2 club Troyes, owned by City Football Group, Savinho has set La Liga alight this season with his scintillating performances.
The 19-year-old has bagged four goals and four assists across all competitions, which includes the injury-time winner against San Roque Lepe in the Copa del Rey earlier today.
Savinho has been a driving force behind the Catalan club’s dream run this term as they sit second in the table level on points with leaders Real Madrid.
The Brazilian wonderkid’s top-notch form has grabbed the attention of top clubs, including fellow Catalan rivals Barca.
Barca’s sporting director Deco is keen on recruiting the high-flying winger, having followed him during his time as the talent spotter in Brazil.
The former agent also attempted to take Savinho under his wing before he switched from Atletico Mineiro to Troyes.
Manchester City will have a big say on Savinho’s future as he is contracted to their sister club Troyes until 2026.
The Catalan giants have also been credited with an interest in Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams, but he is reportedly close to penning a new deal with the Basque outfit.
Barca continue to dip their toes in the Brazilian market after their successful deal for Atheltico Paranaense’s rising star Vitor Roque, who is expected to move to the Catalonian capital in January.
They lack a traditional winger in their squad following the departures of Ansu Fati and Ez Abde in the summer.
Joao Felix is currently plying his trade on the wings, although his best position is the centre forward or second striker.
Savinho could be the perfect solution, as he has shown with the exceptional numbers he has produced for Girona.
