David Moyes’ contract at West Ham United expires next summer but the club will wait before offering him a new deal.
The 60-year-old last penned a three-year contract with the Hammers in 2021 after leading the club to a sixth-place finish in his second spell.
His position at the London Stadium looked in danger last season after he struggled to deliver results despite heavy investment in the summer transfer window.
However, the former Everton boss inspired his team to some brilliant results towards the end of the campaign, with the Irons ultimately sealing a 14th-place finish.
Moyes ended the season on a high as he led West Ham to their first major trophy in 43 years – the Europa Conference League.
But his future in London is a source of speculation with the Scot currently in the final year of his contract.
According to The Athletic, the club’s majority shareholder David Sullivan and vice-chairman Karren Brady plan to review Moyes’ future near the end of the season.
The 60-year-old has done an impressive job this term. The Hammers are sitting ninth in the Premier League standings after picking up 14 points from their nine games.
However, the Scottish boss still divides opinion among supporters. Some fans are unhappy with his cautious style of play, in-game management and the slow integration of new signings into the team.
It is uncertain at this point whether Moyes will be handed a new contract, but it looks like his future will depend on how West Ham perform over the coming months.
