Leeds plan contract extensions for recruitment chiefs Hammond & Penrice

Leeds United are set to extend the contracts of their interim transfer consultant Nick Hammond and his assitant Gary Penrice, per The Athletic.

This decision comes in the wake of Leeds’ successful summer transfer window. The club has been proactive in rebuilding, aiming to regain their Premier League status.

Hammond and Penrice have been instrumental in shaping Leeds’ recruitment strategy over the past year.

Their contracts are due for renewal, and the management at Elland Road is eager to maintain continuity during these crucial times.

The duo, who have a stellar track record of identifying valuable players, have become integral figures in the club’s off-pitch operations.

Over the last summer transfer window, the pair were involved in the signing of Joel Piroe, Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev, Glen Kamara, Djed Spence, Karl Darlow, Sam Byram, Jaidon Anthony and Joe Rodon.

These new additions combined with players already at the club, and they continue to push up the Championship table, sitting in a healthy fifth position.

The club’s fans have reason to be optimistic as they look ahead to the post-relegation era.

The move to extend the contracts of Hammond and Penrice underscores the club’s desire to forge a sustainable path back to the Premier League, emphasising smart and prudent investment.

Leeds fans are no strangers to adversity, and they continue to rally behind the team, buoyed by the commitment of the club’s leadership in this pivotal period.

Leeds’ journey back to the Premier League may be challenging. However, the expertise of Hammond and Penrice will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in steering the club towards a brighter future.
