Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has been rewarded for his sensational start to life in Spain by being chosen as the club’s Player of the Month for September 2023.
The England international has bagged the award for the second consecutive month following his move from Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham has been in incredible form for Los Blancos, securing the winner in their first match in September against Getafe.
The former Birmingham City midfielder bagged a stoppage time winner to earn all three points for his side.
In their next match against Real Sociedad, he picked up his August La Liga Player of the Month award for his showings.
Even though he did not have a goal contribution, he was impressive and came close with a superb diving header late on.
Bellingham bagged another late winner as Madrid defeated Union Berlin in their opening Champions League fixture before they lost the derby to Atletico Madrid.
Madrid beat Las Palmas in their next La Liga clash before Bellingham scored and assisted in their 3-0 win over Girona.
The 20-year-old star assisted Joselu’s opener with a gorgeous Luka Modric-esque outside-of-the-boot pass. He rounded off the scoring with a fantastic volley.
Bellingham is one of the revelations of the season and looks like good value for the €133 million the 14-time Champions League winners shelled out to sign him from Borussia Dortmund.
Apart from his supreme footballing abilities, he has a calm head on his shoulders. He is a leader of men, as evidenced by his captaining BVB in the Bundesliga and the Champions League last season.
Madrid can only hope that he will continue to go from strength to strength, but his start to life has been stellar. He scored in their Champions League clash with Napoli days ago to help them seal a crucial win.
It is hard to argue that Bellingham has been one of the best signings of the 2023 summer transfer window and Real Madrid’s best player this season.
