The revolving door at Chelsea continues to spin with the club set to unveil a trio of high-profile executive appointments and the departure of President of Business Tom Glick.
Chelsea chief executive Chris Jurasek announced the news in an email update (revealed via the Daily Mail), marking another significant change in the club’s leadership.
Glick held the role for just over a year and will leave at the end of this month.
His exit follows a series of departures from the club since the takeover by American owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022.
Jurasek, appointed in May, has wasted no time reshaping the club’s leadership team as Chelsea seek to boost their revenue.
After spending over £1 billion in transfers since the takeover, the pressure to increase income is palpable.
The first of the three appointments is Jason Gannon, who will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer.
Gannon brings extensive experience from his time as the Managing Director of SoFi Stadium, home to the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. He is expected to play a pivotal role in Chelsea’s stadium redevelopment plans.
Adriel Lares, formerly of San Francisco-based financial services firm Stash, will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Casper Stylsvig, formerly the sponsorship director at Manchester United and AC Milan, will join Chelsea as Chief Revenue Officer next month.
His mandate is to diversify revenue streams. The club had been overly reliant on previous owner Roman Abramovich for support.
Chelsea’s new executive team faces a challenging task as the club has had an underwhelming start to the season. They currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League.
Sales and marketing staff will merge into a modern, open-spaced office environment to support these changes.
Chelsea branding will be prominently featured in all club lobbies as part of a corporate-oriented approach.
With these fresh faces at the helm, Chelsea are poised for a new era in their off-field operations.
