Man Utd defender Wan-Bissaka to miss ‘several weeks’ of action

Manchester United’s right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been ruled out for ‘several weeks’ following an injury sustained during the clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Wan-Bissaka’s presence on the bench raised eyebrows, but the club revealed that the defender had been grappling with illness in the days leading up to the game.

However, a late substitution brought him onto the field in the 85th minute, but he suffered an injury during the closing stages of the 3-1 loss to the Seagulls.

This unfortunate setback has dealt a significant blow to United, with Wan-Bissaka now set to miss the upcoming Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich.

The club says a thorough assessment is necessary to pinpoint the exact duration of his absence, leaving fans awaiting news of his return.

Wan-Bissaka had been an ever-present figure in United’s line-up for every league game this season, showcasing his defensive prowess and consistency.

His absence will undoubtedly be felt, further complicating matters for manager Erik ten Hag, who is already grappling with a slew of injuries in his squad.

Wan-Bissaka joins the growing list of sidelined players at Old Trafford, which includes Tom Heaton, Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Soyfan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo.

They are also dealing with the absences of Jadon Sancho and Antony.

United are left with limited options, and fans are concerned about the team’s ability to maintain their competitive edge.

The team must navigate a challenging fixture list while missing several key players.
