PSG ready to listen to loan offers for out-of-favour star Hugo Ekitike

Paris Saint-Germain are open to loaning out Hugo Ekitike in January after failing to sell him this summer, as per L’Equipe.

Despite courting interest from West Ham United, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Everton, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund, the striker stayed at PSG.

Palace explored a loan move with a buy-option for Ekitike on deadline day of the summer transfer window, but PSG wanted a permanent sale.

Les Parisiens tried to persuade Ekitike to move to Frankfurt, who were willing to meet the Ligue 1 club’s demands after selling Randal Kolo Muani to them in a big-money deal.

However, much to the disappointment of the French champions, Ekitike declined the offer. He has since been ostracised from the squad.

Although manager Luis Enrique rates the former Reims star, the club’s hierarchy decided to exclude him from the Champions League squad this season.

Having recently sold club legend Marco Verratti to Qatari club Al Arabi for around €45 million, PSG are looking to sell Ekitike in the winter transfer window. They are also receptive to loan offers.

The 21-year-old moved to Parc des Princes in 2022 with plenty of expectations on his shoulders, but his time at PSG hasn’t panned out as he would have wanted.

Serie A giants AC Milan, who tried to sign Ekitike in the summer, could try their luck again in January following their failure to land Mehdi Taremi.

PSG will return to action after the international break when they face OGC Nice in a Ligue 1 fixture this weekend.

Enrique’s side will look to continue from where they left off after recording two consecutive victories over Lens and Lyon.
