The draw for the group stage of the 2023/24 Europa Conference League has been completed in Monaco.
It consisted of 32 teams, comprising 22 Europa Conference League play-off winners and ten teams from the Europa League play-offs.
The teams were seeded into four pots of eight teams each, based on the UEFA club coefficient rankings.
The pots were as follows:
- Pot 1: Eintracht Frankfurt, Dinamo Zagreb, Club Brugge, AZ Alkmaar, Gent, Fenerbahce, Lille, Ferencvaros.
- Pot 2: PAOK, Slovan Bratislava, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Viktoria Plzen, Aston Villa, Ludogorets, Fiorentina, Bodo/Glimt.
- Pot 3: Genk, Zorya Luhansk, Astana, Besiktas, Helsinki, Legia Warszawa, Spartak Trnava, Olimpija Ljubljana.
- Pot 4: HSK Zrinjski, KI Klaksvik, Aberdeen, Cukaricki, Lugano, Breidablik, Nordsjaelland, Ballkani.
Europa Conference League 2023/24 group stage draw
Villa have been handed an interesting group stage draw where they will face Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar alongside Legia Warszawa and HSK Zrinjski.
The Premier League club will be competing in the European group stage for the first time since the 2010/11 campaign but will fancy their chances of making it to the knockout phase from Group E.
Fiorentina, who made it to the Conference League final last season, will face Ferencvaros, Genk and Cukaricki in Group F.
Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen also have some intriguing Europa Conference League fixtures lined up in Group G against Eintracht Frankfurt, PAOK and Helsinki.
