Bayern announce Daniel Peretz, Manuel Neuer returns to training after 8 months

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have announced the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The Bavarian giants have signed the 23-year-old Israeli talent for a base fee of €5 million, with the potential for additional add-ons.

Peretz captured attention with his standout performances for Maccabi and has committed to a five-year contract with Bayern.

Bayern decided to go for Peretz after extensive market research. They considered other names such as Giorgi Mamardashvili, Kepa Arrizabalaga, David Raya and David de Gea.

However, Bayern ultimately opted for the young Israeli goalkeeper. Peretz’s rise in stature with Maccabi has made him one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects.

His inclusion in Bayern’s ranks will add depth and intensity to the competition within the team. He is seen as the long-term replacement for Neuer.

Since Bayern’s pre-season started, Sven Ulreich had assumed the mantle as the primary goalkeeper.

He started in the DFL Supercup final against RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga opener against Werder Bremen and yesterday’s clash with Augsburg.

Neuer has returned to the team’s training sessions. Following an unfortunate skiing accident that resulted in a leg fracture after Germany’s early exit from the World Cup last year, Neuer has fully recovered.

The 37-year-old has rejoined his fellow goalkeepers, Peretz and Ulreich, in training.

It will be intriguing to see how the dynamic between Neuer, Ulreich and Peretz will shape the team’s performance in the upcoming season.

Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel has a tough call to make in the coming weeks, but the competition for the number one spot will likely make the Bundesliga champions a stronger team.
