Manchester City launch fresh bid to sign Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes

Manchester City have reportedly launched a new bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Nunes.

Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the Cityzens have made a fresh offer worth around €60 million plus add-ons for the midfielder.

City’s previous bid of €50m plus €5m in add-ons was turned down by Wolves.

However, City are confident they will be able to wrap up a deal for the 25-year-old.

The Champions League winners are looking to bolster their midfield ranks, with Kevin de Bruyne expected to remain sidelined for the next four months

Nunes joined the Midlands outfit last summer after making over 100 appearances for Sporting Lisbon.

He hit the ground running at Molineux, featuring in 41 games in all competitions.

The Portuguese footballer started 30 Premier League matches, averaging 1.9 tackles, 0.9 clearances and 1.3 dribbles per game.

He also completed 2.3 long balls and boasted around 82 percent passing accuracy (as per WhoScored).

It is unclear whether Wolves will sanction his move to Man City as they have already lost several important players this summer.

Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Nathan Collins and Conor Coady have all departed in the 2023 transfer window
