Liverpool sign Trey Nyoni from Leicester City

Liverpool officially secured the services of 16-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni, per Fabrizio Romano.

Nyoni’s arrival follows his departure from Leicester City as he embarks on a new chapter in his football career in the Reds’ youth set-up.

The budding football star has gained significant attention due to his impressive technical prowess.

The midfielder was summoned to train with Leicester’s Under-18 squad towards the end of last year.

With two goals in 15 appearances at U18 level, Nyoni has already demonstrated his ability to shine in a higher age group.

He also played in the Premier League International Cup as part of Leicester’s U21squad.

Nyoni has played for England U16s, although it is worth noting he also retains Zimbabwean citizenship.

Liverpool’s history of nurturing emerging talents for the senior squad is an encouraging sign for Nyoni.

Stefan Bajcetic, Trent-Alexander Arnold, Curtis Jones, Ben Doak and Harvey Elliott have proved that manager Jurgen Klopp provides opportunities for youngsters.

Nyoni will be eyeing a similar trajectory, aiming to leave an indelible mark on Liverpool’s football legacy.
