Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Southampton striker Che Adams, claims the Evening Standard.
The Eagles are eager to reinforce their attacking department and are strongly considering a move for the Scotland international centre-forward.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson wants an experienced player to spearhead the attack, and Adams fits the bill, but the Eagles are still weighing up their options.
The 27-year-old scored five goals in 28 Premier League appearances as Southampton suffered relegation. He netted ten times across all competitions.
The former Sheffield United man is already off to a flying start in the Championship, netting twice in Southampton’s opening two games.
Palace are considering a £10 million bid for the Scottish striker, who has indicated a desire to return to Premier League football.
Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta are currently Hodgson’s centre-forward options, but the English manager wants to add another striker to the roster.
Edouard was the match-winner for Palace during a 1-0 victory over newly promoted Sheffield United in their Premier League curtain-raiser last weekend.
Mateta was an unused substitute and has been deemed surplus to requirement. He is attracting interest from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
Palace are financially limited in the transfer market and are waiting to see if they can pocket a substantial fee for Michael Olise, who is a target for Chelsea and Manchester City.
The Frenchman was one of the standout performers for Palace last season. He led their assist chart after setting up 11 goals while netting twice himself.
Palace are braced for bids for the former Reading forward. Although they will prefer to keep him at Selhurst Park, an offer of around £45m could force their hand.
Olise is currently out with a hamstring injury he picked up during international duty with the France under-21 squad.
He is expected to remain sidelined for a considerable period, but that has not deterred the potential suitors interested in landing his signature.
