Lionel Messi magic continues as Inter Miami beat Charlotte FC 4-0

Lionel Messi magic has continued in the United States as he scored once again in Inter Miami’s 4-0 Leagues Cup win over Charlotte FC.

The Argentine easily slotted home the Herons’ fourth goal after being set up by Leonardo Campana in the 86th minute of the game.

The latest victory fired Miami into the semi-final of the competition, where they will face Philadelphia at Subaru Park next week.

Gerardo Martino’s side got themselves into a commanding position after Josef Martinez scored from the penalty spot within the first 12 minutes.

Robert Taylor extended their advantage by sweeping home an assist from DeAndre Yedlin before Adilson Malanda inadvertently netted an own-goal to put the hosts 3-0 ahead.

With four minutes remaining, Messi added their fourth with a cool finish, maintaining his streak of scoring in every game for Miami.

The Argentine’s arrival at the DRV PNK Stadium has given Miami side a huge boost. They have now been victorious in their previous five consecutive games after enduring a six-match winless run.

The 36-year-old made a spectacular debut by scoring an injury-time winner against Cruz Azul

He netted another six goals in his subsequent three matches against Atlanta United, Orlando City and FC Dallas.

Messi was relatively quiet at the DRV PNK Stadium on Friday but still got his name on the scoresheet in the 86th minute.
