Tottenham Hotspur have accepted an offer of around £100 million from Bayern Munich for star striker Harry Kane.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the Englishman is still open to staying at Spurs and has not decided whether to move to Germany.
He was open to joining earlier this summer, but with the season close to starting, he has doubts.
It would be quite a surprise if Kane does not move to the Bavarian club, but they have put him in a tight spot with their public comments about the transfer.
Spurs were also irritated by Bayern’s antics but have now received an offer that matches their valuation.
Bayern’s bid is not up to £100 million but contains a lot of achievable bonuses that practically guarantee that amount.
The ball is now in Kane’s court, and he must decide his future.
The 30-year-old wants to stay in the Premier League and break Alan Shearer’s all-time top scorer record, but he also wants to win silverware.
Kane has one year left on his contract, and there is the possibility that he might stay and run down his contract before leaving for free next summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants to keep the striker and offered him a £400,000-a-week contract to ward off suitors. They also proposed post-playing opportunities to get him to sign a new deal.
However, Kane has shown no inclination he will sign a new deal.
Bayern are in the market for a world-class centre-forward to lead their line this season after struggling without one last season.
They lost Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona and signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool, but the latter did not live up to expectations and they allowed him to join Al-Nassr.
Bayern are now pushing to sign Kane, their top target in the transfer market, and are desperately hoping he chooses to sign for them.
