Barcelona will target Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso if they fail to sign Bernardo Silva

Barcelona have been pursuing a deal for Manchester City attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva in the summer transfer window

However, it appears the 28-year-old will be staying at the Etihad Stadium, with Silva deciding to extend his stay in Manchester by signing a new deal

This is a big blow for the Catalans, who identified the Portuguese as an ideal option to bolster their attack.

If they fail to sign the ex-Monaco star, Barcelona will target a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso, per journalist Javi Miguel

The Argentine joined Spurs in 2019, initially on a loan deal that was later made permanent for a £27 million fee.

The move hasn’t worked out for the player or the club, with Lo Celso making just 55 Premier League appearances.

He was loaned out to La Liga outfit Villarreal for the second half of the 2021-22 season.

The attacking midfielder made 22 appearances for the Yellow Submarine, who re-signed him for a season-long loan the following summer.

But fitness issues prevented him from making a significant impact as he was limited to only 14 La Liga starts last term.

Lo Celso has two years remaining on his contract at Spurs, but they are open to selling him this summer.
