Ansu Fati & Ez Abde with stoppage-time goals as Barcelona trump Tottenham to lift Joan Gamper trophy

Barcelona secured an emphatic 4-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur to lift the Joan Gamper Trophy this evening.

The Catalan club made an electrifying start after Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring inside three minutes following a brilliant pass from Raphinha.

The Brazilian winger had a big opportunity to double the lead not long after, but he fired his shot over the bar.

The visitors sprung into life after Oliver Skipp restored parity in the 24th minute before scoring his second of the night in the space of 12 minutes.

Xavi’s men looked out of their depth for long spells, but their fortunes changed after a plethora of substitutions in the second half.

Ferran Torres provided the equaliser in the 81st minute, with highly-rated academy graduate Lamine Yamal setting up the goal.

Yamal went on to play a sparkling cameo as he bamboozled Spurs defender Sergio Reguilon before finding Torres, who teed up Ansu Fati to help Barca restore the lead.

The final goal was made at La Masia as Yamal and Fermin Lopez combined brilliantly before finding Ez Abde, who provided the finishing touch to put the game to bed.

Barca have capped off pre-season on a high note with their third straight victory after impressive results against Real Madrid and AC Milan.

The result against Spurs also showcased the enormous talent pool in Barca’s squad, and burgeoning youngsters like Lamal and Lopez are ready for the first team.

The Blaugrana will start their 2023/24 La Liga campaign against Getafe in an away fixture this weekend.
