Tottenham in talks to sign Rosario Central’s Alejo Veliz

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to secure the signature of Rosario Central striker Alejo Veliz, according to Standard Sport

This development comes after the 19-year-old Argentine forward impressed during the recent Under-20 World Cup. He will command a fee of approximately £12 million.

Veliz has found his stride with Rosario this season, bagging 11 goals in 23 league games.

He is one of the most sought-after attackers in Argentina, with AC Milan and AS Roma monitoring him. However, Tottenham are leading the race.

Tottenham’s transfer window focus has mainly been resisting offers from Beyer Munich for star striker Harry Kane.

They have signed Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro permanently, while Manor Solomon, James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario have also arrived at the club.

Spearheading Spurs’ recruitment efforts are chairman Daniel Levy, manager Ange Postecoglou and chief scout Leonardo Gabbanini in the absence of former sporting director Fabio Paratici.

The club is also looking to offload players to make room for fresh faces in their squad. Hugo Lloris, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele and Bryan Gil are on the transfer list.

However, Gil’s recent groin surgery may force the club into considering loan offers for the young winger. He is out for two months.

Lloris is attracting interest from France and Saudi Arabia. Atletico Madrid are pushing for Hojbjerg, while Spurs await tangible offers for Ndombele.
