Lionel Messi scores another brace as Inter Miami record 3-1 victory over Orlando City

Lionel Messi continued his brilliance in the United States as he scored a brace to help Inter Miami triumph 3-1 over Orlando City. 

The 36-year-old put his side in control by firing home the opener in the seventh minute. 

Orlando soon restored parity through César Araújo who pounced on a loose ball and smashed it home. 

But Miami regained their advantage early in the second half as Josef Martinez scored from the penalty spot. 

The Venezuelan then set up Messi who scored a close-range goal in the 72nd minute, leading them to a 3-1 win. 

The victory has moved Inter into the last-16 of the Leagues Cup where they will face FC Dallas this weekend. 

Messi has been spectacular for the Herons since he completed his move to Major League Sovver in a move that has greatly boosted football’s profile in North America

He scored an injury-time winner in his first appearance for Gerardo Martino’s side against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

The legendary forward also created headlines in his first start for Inter last week, netting two brilliant goals to help them win 2-1 against Atlanta United

The Florida-based side were on a six-match winless run before Messi’s arrival. 

They have been victorious in three consecutive games in which the Argentine has featured. 

Miami will return to action on Sunday when they take on FC Dallas in the last-16 of the Leagues Cup.
