Sevilla reach full agreement to sign Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow

Sevilla have reportedly finalised a total agreement to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow.

The Swiss midfielder was put on the market after refusing to extend his contract with the German outfit, which expires in 12 months.

Lazio were in the running for Sow before the Andalusian outfit overtook them in the transfer race.

German journalist Christopher Michell reports that Los Nervionenses have struck a deal with Frankfurt for around €14 million, and Sow is expected to have his medicals on Wednesday.

Sow will be the second signing of the summer for the La Liga giants following the arrival of Adria Pedrosa on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old has garnered 160 appearances for Frankfurt since joining them in 2019. He played a key role in their Europa League triumph in 2020/21.

Sevilla have pulled off a great deal with Sow, who is a much-needed addition to bolster the midfield ranks.

With Pape Gueye returning to Marseille after a loan deal and Ivan Rakitic and Fernando in the twilight of their careers, Sow can take up a central role in the squad.

Sevilla are braced for a mini clearout this summer as they plan to mitigate their economic situation.

Yassine Bounou has been the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain, while Youssef En-Nesyri has been linked with West Ham United.

Fellow Spanish club Valencia have turned their attention towards Rafa Mir after losing Edinson Cavani to Boca Juniors.
