PSG re-enter the race to sign Tottenham target Randal Kolo Muani

Paris Saint-Germain have resurfaced as strong contenders to acquire the services of Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani.

According to Sky Germany, the French giants are back in the race for the 24-year-old forward, with concrete talks now underway.

However, the Parisians have not made a bid for the striker. They are focused on verbally agreeing personal terms with Kolo Muani before formally approaching Frankfurt with an offer.

The stumbling block in this potential transfer is the hefty price tag set by the German club’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, who wants upwards of €100 million for the Frenchman.

The massive fee is daunting, and the deal may ultimately hinge on the outcome of Kylian Mbappe’s uncertain future.

Mbappe could leave PSG this summer and that exit holds the key to Kolo Muani’s prospective arrival.

If Mbappe departs, PSG will view Kolo Muani as the ideal replacement.

They will fancy their chances of securing the forward’s signature over Tottenham Hotspur, who have been eyeing the French star as a replacement for Harry Kane.

PSG previously placed Kane on top of their striking shortlist but have now pulled out of the race, leaving Bayern Munich in the lead for the Englishman.

Kolo Muani broke through last season with Die Adler, notching 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances.

He also became a French international and was part of their squad at the 2022 World Cup, where he scored once.

Selling Kolo Muani would be a lucrative deal for Frankfurt. Having signed the forward on a free transfer just last summer, they stand to make a massive profit from his potential departure.

However, the club remains confident in their ability to retain Kolo Muani for at least another season in the Bundesliga to allow them time to find a suitable successor.
