Mitrovic to push for Fulham exit even if Saudi Pro League switch fails

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is putting his foot down on an exit from Fulham this summer, per Standard Sport.

While his big-money move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal has hit a roadblock, Mitrovic wants to leave Craven Cottage and will push for an exit to another club.

Al Hilal offered the Serbian striker a staggering wage package that would more than triple the striker’s current £120,000-a-week earnings.

However, the stumbling block lies in Fulham’s demand of approximately £50 million, a figure Al-Hilal are reluctant to meet.

Undeterred by the financial impasse, Mitrovic has been pushing hard to force the move by embarking on a strike.

Despite his efforts, Fulham recently rebuffed a £40m bid from the Saudi club, leaving the 28-year-old disgruntled. The centre-forward has set his sights on a fresh challenge.

Mitrovic has resumed training with Fulham, but his absence from the squad that faced Chelsea in Washington last night has raised eyebrows.

Fulham manager Marco Silva tactfully navigated questions about the ongoing negotiations. He chose to focus on Mitrovic’s fitness instead.

While keeping the striker in the squad for now, Silva’s remarks hint at the uncertainty surrounding the situation and the possibility of Mitrovic’s imminent departure.

If the Al-Hilal deal falls through, Mitrovic’s determination to move will not be swayed.

Eager to ply his trade at the highest level, the powerful attacker has already set his sights on other European destinations where he can continue showcasing his goalscoring prowess.

Fulham have already brought in a replacement for Mitrovic, signing Raul Jimenez from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £5.5m

The Mexican international will help fill the void left by the Fulham talisman, whose 14 goals were vital as the London outfit finished tenth in the Premier League last season.
