Liverpool linked with ambitious Kylian Mbappe loan deal

Liverpool are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a sensational loan deal for superstar Kylian Mbappe, according to the Mirror.

Mbappe is in the middle of an awkward situation at PSG. He has just one year remaining on his current contract, and the club believe he already has an agreement in place with Real Madrid.

Consequently, Les Parisiens are desperately trying to offload him this summer in order to guarantee themselves a fee for the 24-year-old.

They accepted a world-record bid from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, but the player has rejected the move.

Now, they could have another offer, with Liverpool reportedly making a loan bid for the France international.

This would reportedly guarantee PSG some money for their most valuable asset. It would also allow Mbappe to make his proposed move to Madrid in 2024.

Liverpool enter the new campaign off the back of one of their weakest in recent years. They failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2016 and were unable to win a trophy.

Another forward would be welcome at Anfield, following the departure of club legend Roberto Firmino.

Mbappe can play anywhere across the frontline, and a player of his quality would be a huge boost to any club.

However, their priority in the transfer window likely remains in central midfield. Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arthur Melo have all left, and Fabinho’s exit is expected to be confirmed soon. Thiago Alcantara may also be sold this summer.

The Reds have already brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, but they will need more if they wish to compete amongst the best again. Southampton’s Romeo Lavia appears to be at the top of their wish list.

As for PSG, they have already begun searching for replacements for Mbappe. Compatriot Ousmane Dembele has been linked with a move from Barcelona, amid concerns over his contract and the club’s financial situation.
