Free agent Roberto Pereyra’s agent confirms talks with Inter Milan

Argentine attacker Roberto Pereyra’s agent Federico Pastorello has revealed that Inter Milan have enquired about a potential transfer.

Pereyra parted ways with Udinese earlier this summer after his contract expired.

The 32-year-old returned for his second spell at Friulani in 2020 and has racked up 200 appearances overall, which places him 18th on the list of most appearances in the club’s history.

Pereyra’s future destination remains a subject of speculation, but his agent insists the Argentine wants to remain in Serie A and Inter are the only club to approach him.

“At the moment, no satisfactory offers have arrived, not even from abroad,” Pereyra’s agent told Calciomercato.com. “The boy would still prefer to stay in the Italian league.

“In Italy so far there have been contacts with Inter – we’ve only talked about it with them. He’s a player you like, but to date there is nothing concrete.”

Earlier reports stated Inter were among the clubs monitoring Pereyra, but the Italian giants no longer consider him a priority.

The Nerazzurri seem to have all the bases covered in the midfield, and their focus is on signing a new goalkeeper and a striker.

Bayern Munich keeper Yann Sommer is edging closer towards a move to San Siro, while Inter have lined up Alvaro Morata, Folarin Balogun and Gianluca Scamacca as potential centre-forward targets.

Pereyra’s former Udinese teammate Lazar Samardzic is on Inter’s agenda, with the Nerazzurri in talks over a potential transfer.

With Udinese demanding around €30 million, Inter are looking to include a player in the deal to drive down the price, with Giovanni Fabian identified as the makeweight.
