AC Milan complete the signing of Samuel Chukwueze

AC Milan have completed the acquisition of Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze for an initial €20 million plus a further €8m in add-ons.

The Nigerian international enjoyed his most productive season to date last time out, where he bagged 13 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.

Blessed with immense dribbling ability and quick feet, Chukwueze is a more than worthy replacement for Brahim Diaz who recently returned to parent club Real Madrid after three years on loan at the San Siro.

Chukwueze joins Milan as the seventh addition this summer following the earlier arrivals of Noah Okafor, Tijjani Reijnders, Christian Pulisic, Luka Romero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Marco Sportiello.

Since selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United for €64m, Milan have been very active in the transfer market.

They are expected to secure the signing of one more midfielder, with a deal for Valencia’s Yunus Musah drawing increasingly closer.

Having finished as the fourth-best team in Italy last time out, Milan have bolstered their squad significantly as they look to record a second title in three years and enjoy another deep run in the Champions League next season.

Milan kicked off pre-season duty with a 7-0 thrashing of fourth-tier side Lumezzane before suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat against Real Madrid on Monday.

The Rossoneri will face off against Juventus on Friday in the first of four more warm-up fixtures before getting their 2023/24 Serie A campaign underway with a clash against Bologna on August 21.
