Man Utd submit €60m bid for Hojlund, Atalanta demand more

Manchester United have lodged a €60 million bid to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, according to Nico Schira.

The Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with the Dane. The 20-year-old has agreed to sign a five-year deal until 2028 and will earn around €5mannually.

However, Atalanta want around €80m for Hojlund. United will likely return with another offer as they seek to bolster their forward line ahead of next season.

United manager Erik ten Hag placed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane at the top of his transfer shortlist of strikers to sign this summer.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell his prized forward. United have turned their attention to Hojlund, who they feel is more attainable.

The young striker notched nine goals and two assists in 32 Serie A appearances last season.

Hojlund is a Denmark international, debuting in their 2024 European Championship qualifiers, where he has bagged six goals in four games.

He is an exciting target who still has rough edges to iron out but could explode exponentially at Old Trafford under Ten Hag.

Signing a striker is the last piece of the puzzle for the Dutch manager heading into the 2023/24 campaign. He wants the club to wrap up a deal for Hojlund soon.

United have signed Johnny Evans, Mason Mount and Andre Onana this summer.

They have also been linked with Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, and he could be their final signing.

United will aim to mount a Premier League title challenge next term. They will also have Champions League football and must target a deep run.
