Fulham winger Willian has urged Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi to join him at Craven Cottage.
The Brazilian knows Hudson-Odoi from his time at Stamford Bridge and wants him to make the move.
Willian signed a new one-year deal with the Cottagers after initially leaving the club as a free agent.
He had offers from Nottingham Forest and at least one other Premier League club, but he re-signed with Fulham.
The 34-year-old had a stellar campaign last season, bagging five goals and five assists in 27 Premier League appearances as Fulham finished tenth.
Willian hopes his former teammate Hudson-Odoi, who has agreed personal terms with Fulham, will join him this summer.
He said (via the Evening Standard): “If he comes here, it would be good for us, and I hope he can come.
“I don’t know if he will join – I haven’t spoken to him. I am waiting after seeing it in the newspapers and media! He is a very good player.”
Hudson-Odoi has asked to leave Chelsea and did not join them on their pre-season tour of the United States. The Blues are willing to sell and are trying to negotiate a fee.
Fulham have already agreed fees for Nigerian international Calvin Bassey and Southampton’s Mohammed Salisu.
They are also set to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £5.5 million.
Manager Marco Silva rejecting an offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli will likely be the best news of the bunch.
Al-Ahli proposed a staggering £40 million for him to manage the club, but he will stay with Fulham.
Silva will now see out the last year of his contract with the London club. Willian is delighted the Portuguese manager decided to stay.
“It is good that he can stay with us,” Willian added. “He is a top coach. For me, he is one of the best coaches in the Premier League.”
