Paris Saint-Germain have sent an offer to former AC Milan director Paolo Maldini over a role at the capital club, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
The nature of the job is unknown and Maldini has also received a proposal from the Italian national team.
The Milan legend is currently up for grabs after leaving his role as Milan’s technical director last month.
The legendary Italian left-back became the club’s technical director in 2019.
Maldini paved the way for a revolution at Milan alongside Ricky Massara, helping the club recover from the depths of despair to return to the top.
Everything the director duo touched in the transfer market turned to gold.
The appointment of Stefano Pioli as head coach proved to be a watershed moment as he guided Milan to the Scudetto in the 2021/22 season.
Transfers made under the supervision of Maldini, such as Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Olivier Giroud, Mike Maignan, Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer, were game-changing.
However, much to everyone’s surprise, Maldini and Massara were relieved of their duties in the wake of Milan’s disappointing 2022/23 campaign, where the club failed to win any silverware.
The decision was taken by Milan owner Gerry Cardinale to mark a new era at the San Siro.
Maldini is currently on vacation, and it will be interesting to see what he has decided on his future.
Footballing director Luis Campos has been the head of PSG’s transfer operations since last summer.
The Portuguese director has been busy during the current transfer window, bringing in an influx of new signings to bolster Les Parisiens.
His biggest task is sorting out the future of Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has been given an ultimatum to sign a renewal or he will be sold this summer.
Mbappe has been excluded from PSG’s pre-season squad while his future remains up in the air.
Saudi giants Al Hilal have made an audacious offer for Mbappe, who reportedly prefers a move to Real Madrid.
