Premier League newcomers Luton Town are one of several clubs considering a move for Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis, according to The Athletic.
The 25-year-old striker is poised to leave Villa Park on a permanent deal this summer with just one year left on his contract.
Davis has been on Villa’s books since he joined the under-18 set-up in 2015. He made his way through the youth ranks before progressing to the first-team squad in 2017.
After four and a half years with the Villans, Davis embarked on a short-term loan stint with Nottingham Forest, contributing five goals in 22 appearances as they won promotion to the Premier League.
With Forest reluctant to make his loan stint permanent, Davis returned to the Championship for a season-long loan stint with Watford last term.
The former England U20 international rippled the net seven times and provided two assists in 34 league games as the Hornets finished the Championship campaign in mid-table.
Davis has returned to Villa Park but is not in Unai Emery’s long-term plans, and his eight-year association with the Birmingham club is expected to end this summer.
He was omitted from Villa’s travelling squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, with the club hoping to sort out a transfer.
The Englishman is not short on interest, with Luton and several Championship clubs lining up to capture his signature.
The Hatters’ manager Rob Edwards is keen to reunite with the striker at Kenilworth Road following their short spell together at Watford.
Villa are reportedly willing to negotiate with clubs for Davis on the transfer fee and structure of the deal. They are expected to demand around £7 million for the striker.
Luton have already recruited five new players in the summer transfer window as they look to build a squad strong enough to avoid a quick return to the Championship.
