Juventus make contact with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Jesper Lindstrom

Italian giants Juventus have contacted Eintracht Frankfurt to sign attacker Jesper Lindstrom, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Corriere della Sera).

The Serie A club are preparing for the departure of Federico Chiesa, who has interest from the Premier League. They want the Danish attacker as their replacement for Chiesa.

Lindstrom bagged seven goals and two assists in 27 Bundesliga appearances to help Die Adler finish seventh last season. He scored two more in the Champions League and DFB Pokal.

The 23-year-old was a part of the Frankfurt squad that won the Europa League two years ago and continues to improve.

He is a Danish international, making nine appearances for his country and scoring once. He was part of the Denmark squad for the 2022 World Cup.

New Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has identified Lindstrom as a potential addition this summer, but they are not alone in their pursuit.

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on Lindstrom. Frankfurt will be willing to sell the player if they receive a figure of around €35 million.

Chiesa wants to leave the Turin club after struggling following his return from a long-term injury.

There have been rumours he is unhappy with manager Massimiliano Allegri’s defensive style. He wants to play for a team where he can be more expressive.

Chiesa is not the only player who has suffered a drop in productivity under Allegri. Dusan Vlahovic has struggled to be prolific under the Italian tactician and is looking for a route out of the club.

Several clubs have shown interest in securing his services, but none have come forward with a concrete offer.

Juve plan to sell Vlahovic this summer and will use the funds to pursue Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
