Conor Gallagher is ready to leave Chelsea this summer, with the club deeming him surplus to requirements, per the Evening Standard.
The 23-year-old recognises that the time has come for him to leave the club after 17 years.
Gallagher progressed through Chelsea’s youth system before embarking on a series of loans with different clubs.
He spent time with Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion, but enjoyed his most productive spell with Crystal Palace in 2021/22.
Gallagher bagged eight goals and three assists in 34 appearances and was chosen as the club’s Player of the Season.
The Epsom-born central midfielder returned to Chelsea last season, where he became part of the first-team squad.
Despite Chelsea’s chaotic season, he bagged three goals and an assist in 34 appearances.
Chelsea needed to perform a clearout this summer and have sold 16 first-team players, but they are not finished.
The club is offering Gallagher to other clubs, despite him netting two goals in two games in their pre-season friendlies.
London duo West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the midfielder.
The Hammers, fresh off their £105 million sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, need midfield reinforcements and have Gallagher on their radar.
West Ham are after two midfielders, and he is on their shortlist alongside Joao Palhinha, Denis Zakaria and James Ward-Prowse.
West Ham tried to recruit Gallagher last summer, but then-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel blocked his exit.
Tottenham are after homegrown players. They have Gallagher on their target list as they prepare for the departure of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
