Real Madrid make direct contact with Dusan Vlahovic over summer transfer

Real Madrid are exploring a deal to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and have made direct contact with the player’s camp, reports Calciomercato.

The Serbian striker’s future continues to be a subject of exit speculation, and the Old Lady are willing to cash in if a suitable offer arrives.

Paris Saint-Germain have been credited as the primary suitors. However, they are having second thoughts due to fitness concerns and have shifted their attention to Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

If there is one area that needs to be strengthened in an otherwise impeccable squad at Madrid, it is the centre-forward position.

Karim Benzema’s shock departure to Saudi giants Al-Ittihad has left Madrid in the lurch, and the Spanish giants haven’t invested in a first-choice striker in this transfer window.

Rumours about Kylian Mbappe have been circulating this summer, but Madrid are understandably best placed to sign the PSG superstar next summer.

The French forward will not extend his contract which runs until 2024, but is willing to continue at Parc des Princes next season.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has warned the 2022 World Cup finalist that he should pen a new deal or leave the French capital this summer.

Los Merengues are looking to sign Vlahovic on loan, but the Old Lady are against the idea and want a fee of around €70 million.

Madrid have shelled out nearly €140m combined for Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Fran Garcia this summer.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez recently stated there are no plans for further signings.
