Juventus and Atalanta battling for Spezia talent Emil Holm

Serie A giants Atalanta and Juventus are competing for the signing of Spezia’s talented full-back Emil Holm, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

Holm was a revelation in Serie A last term, catching everyone’s attention with his impressive displays.

However, he suffered an injury during the second half of the season, which had a significant toll on Spezia’s results, with the club failing to escape relegation.

The Bianconeri have been closely following Holm as they are in the market for a new right-back following the departure of Juan Cuadrado to Inter Milan.

Juve’s new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been tracking the Swedish youngster from his time at Napoli and is eager to take him to Turin.

However, the Old Lady will have to overcome Atalanta, who are equally keen on recruiting Holm and have made their opening move.

La Dea have reportedly proposed a loan move worth €2 million with a mandatory buy option of €8m, but they were turned down by Spezia.

Juventus have not made an offer and must step up their efforts to avoid missing out on Holm.

Atalanta have already signed left-back Mitchel Bakker from Bayer Leverkusen and are looking to bolster the other flank.

Timothy Castagne remains a top target for Juve, but they haven’t found any breakthrough in negotiations with Leicester City.

The Bianconeri are working on the potential sale of Dusan Vlahovic as it could only unlock the arrival of top striker target Romelu Lukaku.
