Inter Milan make Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun their number one target

Inter Milan have reportedly made Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun their primary target.

The 22-year-old is one of the top talents to have emerged from the Gunners’ youth academy.

His reputation grew considerably following an impressive loan spell at Stade de Reims, where he scored 22 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Inter want Balogun to spearhead their attack.

However, a deal for the 22-year-old is likely to be difficult, with Arsenal setting a €50 million price tag.

The Nerazzurri are unwilling to match their valuation and want to secure a transfer for around €40m.

The Gunners are unlikely to rush to make a decision over the United States international as he has numerous admirers.

Inter attempted to re-sign Romelu Lukaku earlier this summer, but they abandoned their pursuit after learning the Belgian prefers a move to Juventus.

The Serie A outfit have made Balogun their prime target, but it remains to be seen whether they will spend a €50m fee for him.

They have already signed Marcus Thuram on a free transfer but are keen to bring in more attacking reinforcements.

Inter finished 18 points behind eventual champions Napoli last season. They will be looking to mount a serious Serie A title challenge in 2023-24.
