Everton set to hijack AC Milan’s pursuit of Arnaut Danjuma

Everton have overtaken AC Milan in the race for Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma.

As reported by Diario AS, the Dutchman is on the verge of signing for the Toffees.

The Yellow Submarine have put Danjuma up for sale following his return from a short loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports have been circulating that Milan are working on a double swoop for Danjuma and his teammate Samuel Chukwueze.

The 26-year-old had seemingly given the nod for his move to the San Siro, but he has now changed his mind.

Milan will now focus their attention towards Chukwueze, with talks continuing for his signing.

The Serie A giants have tabled an offer worth €25 million while Villarreal are holding out for €35m. Milan will look to negotiate the fee again.

Danjuma is a familiar figure for the Toffees, having been linked with a move to Goodison Park over the past year.

He was close to signing for the Merseysiders in January before he snubbed them in favour of a move to Tottenham.

The Toffees have been monitoring Danjuma, and manager Sean Dyche has held talks with him.

The Blues will pay a loan fee of €4 million with an option to buy. They will cover his entire salary.

The Toffees also have identified Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Salernitana forward Boulaye Dia as potential attacking targets.
