Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin close to joining Saudi Pro League club

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin is reportedly close to joining Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli.

L’Equipe claim they have launched a €25 million bid to sign the 26-year-old and are negotiating a salary of more than €12m-per-year.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe recently confirmed Saint-Maximin is in talks over a move away from the club.

The Magpies are looking to raise funds for new signings by selling Saint-Maximin.

The ongoing summer transfer window has seen them bring in midfielder Sandro Tonali for €70m from AC Milan.

However, there are other areas they need to improve to boost their hopes of success next season.

Saint-Maximin joined the Tyneside club in 2019, and he has been an important squad player at St James’ Park.

He has made 124 appearances in all competitions, netting 13 goals.

The winger has shown flashes of brilliance at times, but injury issues have prevented him from making a huge impact.

He was limited to only 12 starts in the English top flight due to a series of injury problems last term.

Saint-Maximin still has three years left on his contract, but he looks set to move to Saudi Arabia

Several big names in football have joined the Pro League this summer, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly.
