Paris Saint-Germain have pulled out of the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to Sky Germany.
Kolo Muani garnered global attention following a breakthrough season for Die Adler in which he bagged 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances.
The 24-year-old was instrumental for the club in the DFB Pokal as his six goals and three assists helped them reach the final, where they lost to RB Leipzig.
Kolo Muani also made his mark at the 2022 World Cup as France reached the final.
The attacker’s form resulted in him being linked with Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Bayern showed interest in him but have decided to push for Harry Kane. They have submitted two offers to Tottenham Hotspur for him.
United and Chelsea have him on their transfer shortlist this summer, but they are yet to make a formal offer to secure his services.
PSG were also keen after Kolo Muani showed impressive chemistry with Kylian Mbappe at the World Cup. The Ligue 1 champions wanted to harness that link for themselves.
However, PSG have pulled out of the race. It is unclear why they have removed themselves from the picture, but his price tag may be the reason.
Frankfurt are demanding €80-100 million for the striker they signed on a free transfer just last summer.
This decision to pull out of the race leaves PSG with limited options as they seek a new striker.
Kane does not want to join them, while Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is even more expensive than Kolo Muani.
Unless they get an incredible discount from Benfica, they will likely need to meet Goncalo Ramos’ release clause of €120 million to sign him.
Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic could be an option. He is available and affordable, and they could swoop for him.
