Neymar to return to full training for PSG after ankle surgery

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have released an update on superstar forward Neymar, who missed most of the second half of last season through injury.

Following his recovery from ankle surgery, they announced that the Brazilian attacker is ready to rejoin first-team training this week.

Neymar underwent the procedure in February but is ready to return to action ahead of next season.

It will be crucial for him to get proper conditioning during pre-season and will hope to pick up from where he left off last term.

The 31-year-old was playing some of the best football of his career before picking up an ankle injury. He had already registered 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 appearances.

Neymar started the season incredibly motivated. He knew the club tried to push him out last summer, but there were no takers. He decided to fight for his place and was doing remarkably well before the injury.

He will try to play himself back into top form under the new PSG coach Luis Enrique. The Spaniard successfully coached him at Barcelona

PSG have also announced that Nordi Mukiele has resumed personal training. The Frenchman has been out of action for several months after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Presnel Kimpembe continues to recover from his long-term injury. The PSG captain suffered a long-term problem and will not resume training until August.

The PSG academy graduate will find it difficult to recover his place in the first team with the club signing Lucas Hernandez

PSG have more injury concerns with uber-talented left-back Nuno Santos. The Portuguese wonderkid is out with a hamstring problem and will need a few more weeks before returning to action.
