Manchester United and Inter Milan agree €55m transfer fee for Andre Onana

Manchester United have finally reached an agreement with Inter Milan over the transfer fee for Andre Onana.

The Athletic report the two clubs have agreed to an initial €51 million fee plus €4m in add-ons for the Cameroonian.

Personal terms are not an issue, and the former Ajax star is set to sign a long-term contract at Old Trafford until 2028.

He will replace David de Gea as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, with the Spaniard’s contract expiring in June.

United will hope to wrap up a deal quickly so the goalkeeper can be part of Erik ten Hag’s squad that leaves for their pre-season tour of the United States on Wednesday.

The Red Devils will face Lyon in Edinburgh tomorrow before jetting off to the US, where they will meet Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in an exciting list of pre-season fixtures

Manchester United spent €64m to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea earlier this summer.

They are now close to completing a move for Onana, who could be a fantastic signing.

The 27-year-old knows Erik ten Hag well, having worked with the Dutch manager for three years at Ajax.

Man Utd are also looking to sign a striker, with Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund on their radar.
