Manchester City reject Al-Ahli’s £18m bid for Riyad Mahrez

Manchester City have reportedly turned down Al-Ahli’s £18 million offer for Riyad Mahrez

The Daily Mail claim the Cityzens are awaiting an improved offer from the Saudi Pro League club.

The 32-year-old played a key role in helping Pep Guardiola’s side complete the continental treble last season.

He bagged 15 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions during the campaign.

The winger is ready to end his stay at the Etihad Stadium after agreeing personal terms with Al-Ahli

A successful deal will see him receive £43m-per-year plus bonuses for a two-year contract.

Mahrez joined City from Leicester City in a deal worth £60m in 2018.

He has been an important member of the first-team squad, making over 230 senior appearances.

Mahrez has won ten major trophies during his time with City, including four Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy.

He still has two years left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium but is willing to embark on a new challenge elsewhere.

City have rejected Al-Ahli’s £18m offer, but an improved bid could see them change their mind.

They have already lost Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona in the summer transfer window, while Kyle Walker is close to joining Bayern Munich.
