Bayern target move for Real Madrid midfielder Tchouameni

Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is now top OF Bayern Munich’s list of defensive midfielders to sign this summer, according to Sport1.

The Bavarians are in the market for a holding midfielder to partner Joshua Kimmich.

Tchouameni joined Los Los Blancos in a deal worth around €80 million summer. He soon began to repay the faith the 14-time Champions League winners put in him.

His form was impressive until after the 2022 World Cup when it began to go south, forcing Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to drop him from the starting XI.

Madrid have added Fran Garcia and Jude Bellingham to their squad this summer, and they could force Tchouameni further down the pecking order.

Garcia is a left-back, but his arrival will allow Eduardo Camavinga to move into midfield.

Bellingham will also be competing for a midfield spot. Someone may have to leave, and Tchouameni is the likeliest candidate right now.

Despite the arrival of Konrad Laimer at Bayern, head coach Thomas Tuchel is keen on adding a natural number six to his squad.

Tuchel wanted England international Declan Rice, but the midfielder has joined Arsenal from West Ham United.

Bayern considered Brighton & Hove Albion’s Mosises Caicedo, but he was too expensive and is keen on joining Chelsea.

There have been links to Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez, but Tchouameni is now top of Bayern’s midfield shortlist.

Tuchel reportedly wants a quality addition, and the 24-year-old is his target. He wanted the former AS Monaco man last summer while at Chelsea, but the player chose to move to Spain

Tchouameni is open to a move away and has already asked his Les Bleus teammates about Bayern. The Bundesliga champions may make a concrete offer soon.
