Man City target Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, Walker agrees terms with Bavarians

Manchester City have Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard on top of their right-back shortlist this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Frenchman wants to leave the Bavarians after four years, and City have him on their radar.

Pavard joined Bayern Munich from Stuttgart after establishing himself with France at the 2018 World Cup.

The 27-year-old joined Bayern and helped them win the Champions League and an acclaimed treble in his first season.

They picked up the DFL Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup the following season.

Pavard has helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title for four straight seasons, but he wants a new challenge.

Interestingly, according to Sky Germany, Bayern have agreed personal terms with City defender Kyle Walker.

The Bavarians will now try to negotiate a transfer fee for Walker, and the two clubs will simultaneously discuss both players going in opposite directions.

After City clinched the treble last season, Walker has been considering his future at Man City after struggling to nail down a starting berth.

Walker was on the bench in the Champions League final. This did not sit well with him, and he has been considering his future after six successful years in Manchester.

He has reportedly given his green light to Bayern, and they will proceed to talk with City.

The England international has been a crucial player for Pep Guardiola since joining the Cityzens from Tottenham Hotspur for around £50 million.

Walker has bagged six goals and 18 assists for City in 254 appearances. He won every domestic trophy available and the Champions League.

Talks between City and Bayern for the defenders will take place soon. It remains to be seen whether they will negotiate the deals as separate entities or make an exchange.
