Inter Milan are ready to accelerate their efforts to sign goalkeeper targets Yann Sommer and Anatoliy Trubin as they prepare for life without Andre Onana, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Manchester United are set to snap up Onana after a long chase, having reportedly agreed a deal with the Nerazzurri worth €50 million plus €5m in bonuses.
The Nerazzurri plan to reinvest in Sommer and Trubin after also parting ways with Samir Handanovic and Alex Cordaz.
Sommer has been identified as the primary candidate between the sticks, with Trubin his potential deputy.
Inter have been in contact with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Trubin, who has reportedly given the nod to a transfer to San Siro.
They have tabled a five-year contract worth €10m plus bonuses, which they believe will convince the Ukrainian giants to sell.
The 21-year-old, who was part of Ukraine’s squad at the recent European U21 Championship, has made 97 appearances for Shakhtar, including a handful of games in the Champions League.
Trubin is considered the future of the Ukrainian national team, having garnered seven caps with the senior side.
As for Sommer, Bayern Munich are open to letting him leave this summer just six months after his arrival.
The Bavarians are expected to make Manuel Neuer their first choice again once he returns from recovery.
The German champions are also exploring a move for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili as an understudy to Neuer and a potential long-term successor to the German international.
Sommer has a release clause worth €6m in his contract, and Inter are looking to negotiate it with Bayern.
The Swiss shot-stopper translated his solid form from Borussia Monchengladbach to Bayern, playing a decisive role in their 2022/23 Bundesliga triumph.
Inter recently announced the signing of German U21 defender Yann Bisseck, who joins Marcus Thuram and Davide Frattesi as the new arrivals in the summer transfer window.
