Bayern Munich meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over Harry Kane transfer

Bayern Munich have reportedly met with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy over a deal for Harry Kane

German newspaper Bild claim the two parties held a secret meeting in London yesterday.

The Bavarians haven’t made a breakthrough in negotiations but are still optimistic about getting a deal over the line for the striker.

Bayern have already had two bids rejected for the 29-year-old, with the second offer reportedly around £70 million.

Tottenham have maintained the stance that Kane is not for sale, and only a £120m fee could convince them to let him leave.

Kane’s contract expires in 2024 and he could walk away for free at the end of the season.

If Spurs keep the England captain for year season, they risk losing him to a Premier League rival next summer.

Tottenham are reportedly willing to offer him a new £400,000-per-week deal, making him the joint-highest-paid player in the English top flight.

However, Kane is desperate to win silverware and is open to securing a move elsewhere.

Spurs have appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, but it will take him several years to build a squad capable of winning trophies.

Kane is approaching his 30th birthday and may feel the time is right to embark on a new challenge.
